A peaceful rest and recharge time.

It happened!

A whole stretch of time home alone. From Saturday after work until noon today (Monday), I was able to do whatever I wanted. No husband or children.

Cover of "Twilight (Twilight, Book 1)"

I listened to music, ate Indian food and a ton of sushi, drank some wine, re-read Twilight, took a nap, had a long bath and watched romantic comedies.

I also did a little laundry, ran the dishwasher, put food in our solar cone and tidied up slightly. I went through forgotten, packed away clothes and accessories because my Project 333 ended this weekend. No heavy cleaning though.

I daydreamed while sorting through my jewelry box. Each pair of clip-on earrings or necklace reminded me of the person that gave them to me. My paternal grandmother, my long-lost friend, my darling husband. I was able to make some serious cuts. Items that I know I can live without. Items that I know I will never have an urge to wear. Ever.

I feel relaxed and rejuvenated. I’m also grateful to have my husband and kids back. It was quiet without them. But maybe I could have some more days like this every once in a while.

Recharge time.

Former Education Specialist for a corporation, I have now taken a step back to spend time with my family and work closer to home. Hoping to reduce our waste through refusing, reducing and reusing so that we will not have to recycle as much. Also, I love to explore zero-waste fast food and take pictures of my sucesses. I'm a fan of British comedies like Red Dwarf and Black Adder, Kevin Smith and his movies, Asian food, documentaries, biographies and going to Las Vegas on vacation. If someone told me I could only listen to the Beatles for the rest of my life I would die happy.

  1. What a great weekend. I did the purging of my jewelry, some was hard and some was easy to let go of. But each time I go through my things I find it easier to let a little more go.
