Project 333 : the half-way mark!

It is the half-way mark in my Project 333 journey. I put away my grey v-neck sweater and replaced it with the second tank top in my 3 trade-in items. I also had to throw away two of my four work items, a black shirt and black skirt. The shirt was all stretched out from wearing while I was pregnant and one size too big. It’s made me feel frumpy at work the last 6 weeks and I definitely don’t need that! The skirt was no longer very black from so much wear over the last 5 years. It was part of a suit labeled dry-clean only. I ignored that request and always put it in the washer. The inside lining was also torn up from wear. Due to my line of work the clothes had to be thrown away and not donated. I went “shopping” in my garage and replaced the items with a “new” shirt and skirt. I still haven’t worn one of my dresses but I think I have worn every other item in my 33.

I am still trying to decrease my two-year old’s closet. He is now hovering around the 40 item range. All of his size 2 or 24 months clothes that are more for colder weather have been put up high in a basket. I even went through my oldest son’s closet and put away all his long-sleeved shirts and cold weather sweaters etc.

Now if only I could get my husband on board! What if I reduced him down to 33 and didn’t tell him? Ha ha!

I am looking forward to July 1st. Canada Day will be a true celebration. I will be going through all of my clothes and reducing it down. After that I plan on choosing another 33 for the rest of summer.

If you are doing the project too, how is it going? Are you finding it hard to stay out of the malls? Are you itching to buy buy buy? I’m not but I would totally understand if you were.

  1. Thank goodness you’re not limiting your posts to 33 items. I am doing well, not as well as you. I am wearing things have I haven’t, and enjoying it. I’m looking at what I don’t wear and donating it.
