Zero-Waste Fast Food?

Zero-Waste Fast Food? Tiki-Ming

Mmm… Chinese Food. I love it but I don’t like the typical containers they are put in, Styrofoam. Today we went to the mall because my husband needed new jeans. It only takes a few minutes to prepare for a more eco-friendly trip to the mall. A tote was filled with my reusable Starbucks cold cup, 3 Rubbermaid containers plus lids, 2 towels and a bit of cutlery. My meal was easy to get the way I wanted it. All I did was show my container and ask for my meal to be put in it. They have their food in warmers so she dished it right up. The employee wanted to put my egg roll in a wrapper. I assured her it was alright just to put it right on top of everything else. She also asked if I wanted sauces and of course I said no. This was another Zero-Waste Fast Food success! The bonus to using a Rubbermaid container is that you have a built-in doggie bag. Now I know what I’m eating for dinner!

About stephanieough

Wife, mom, concerned citizen of the earth. Striving towards intentional living rather than blindly following. Former Education Specialist for a corporation, I have now taken a step back to spend time with my family and work closer to home. Hoping to reduce our waste through refusing, reducing and reusing so that we will not have to recycle as much. Also, I love to explore zero-waste fast food and take pictures of my sucesses. I'm a fan of British comedies like Red Dwarf and Black Adder, Kevin Smith and his movies, Asian food, documentaries, biographies and going to Las Vegas on vacation. If someone told me I could only listen to the Beatles for the rest of my life I would die happy.
