Reducing waste by reducing packaging, Why we don't use some stuff.

Why we don’t use disposable razors.

Imagine how much landfill space could be saved if nobody bought disposable razors.

We only use cartridge razors. Actually most of the people I know use them too. We buy new cartridges in the largest packs available to save packaging and money. They work well and use up less space in the bathroom than a pile of disposable razors. It’s an easy decision to make.

I recently started using shaving soap when shaving. It takes shaving to a whole ‘nother level! Once the initial investment in the brush is made it becomes quite economical. The brush came in a recyclable plastic box. The soap comes in a cardboard box that is recyclable. I never felt quite right about all those shaving gels and rarely used them.

Mostly when I am looking for a better alternative I think of what people used to use. My grandfather had a mug full of soap in the bathroom way back when. I chose this soap below and put it in a mug my friend Adele gave me (hi Adele).

One day I may feel compelled to switch to a safety razor. They reduce the waste even further but may take a little getting used to.

For now I am happy with the few changes I have made to my shaving routine.

What kind of shaving systems do you use?

Hoping to reduce our waste through refusing, reducing and reusing so that we will not have to recycle as much. Also, I love to explore zero-waste fast food and take pictures of my sucesses. I'm a fan of British comedies like Red Dwarf and Black Adder, Kevin Smith and his movies, Asian food, documentaries, biographies and going to Las Vegas on vacation. 1. My wife and i felt quite thankful that Louis managed to conclude his preliminary research because of the precious recommendations he obtained from your site. It’s not at all simplistic to simply happen to be making a gift of helpful tips that many the rest have been making money from. We acknowledge we’ve got the blog owner to give thanks to for this. The explanations you have made, the easy site menu, the friendships your site help to instill – it is mostly powerful, and it is letting our son and the family feel that the concept is enjoyable, and that is unbelievably indispensable. Many thanks for all!
