Food Network Brown Bag Challenge

I love a good challenge. The official name of this Food Network one is the Brown Bag Challenge but I will be using only reusable containers.  Here are the rules and link to some meal ideas.

http://blog.foodnetwork.com/healthyeats/2011/08/11/calling-all-bloggers-take-our-brown-bag-challenge/

For the month of September I will be bringing my lunch to work everyday. My plan includes taking pictures of the meals to keep me on track.  Please feel free to join me on the challenge. Hopefully I will save some money and maybe lose a pound or two. Mostly I am going to try to pack clean healthful meals and snacks. Sometimes it may just be some pre-cooked Kraft Dinner if I’m being especially lazy. Just bein’ honest.

One of my co-workers has agreed to participate too. She says that it’s kinda cheating because it’s something she does anyways. The one thing she still plans to do is buy a coffee each day. I think that’s fair and I will probably do the same. As you might guess I do use a reusable cup for mostly every coffee purchase and I looooooove coffee. Maybe I will bring some grinds from home and brew it for myself all of September. I’ll let you know my decision.

If you plan on participating too please let me know.

  1. I once read a magazine article about a “lunch club”. A group of four co-workers got together and took turns making lunch for the group. That way each person only had to make lunch once a week. (I think they went out on the fifth day.) If you and your co-workers tastes aren’t too different, it would probably help with your challenge. Good luck!

    • Peggy,
I’ve asked the girl from work about your suggestion. She has told me her mom never taught her how to cook. That’s kinda sad. I’m still going to try to get some of the other employees to agree to making group lunches because I think it’s a great idea! Thanks 🙂

  2. Cheaper adjustable dumbbells can be purchased at discount retailers and don’t always go up to 50 lbs. They are used in yoga, Pilates, strength training and aerobics. Don’t set goals like
“I will miss Ten pounds inside my first week”.

  3. When all else fails, you can always call your favorite shop and ask what pizza deals they are offering.
There are two ways to go about this, firstly, change your diet and
secondly use some natural products that help adjust your sugar levels
without the side effects. Often times this is the most cost effective
and direct way for the shops to advertise to you, so they are
    usually loaded with pizza specials.
