I finally found my Neti Pot’s lid.

A few years ago I bought my Neti Pot to help cure a bad cold I had.

Only people who have drained their sinuses before can really understand how weird it feels doing it and how much better you can feel afterwards. Shortly after purchase a certain toddler of mine absconded with the lid. I looked high and low for my Neti Pot’s lid. Luckily the pot is still usable without the lid. Here’s a YouTube video if you want to see the procedure.

On Saturday morning I found my Neti Pot’s lid laying perfectly in the middle of my kids bucket of tub toys. Where has it been for over two years? I guess I will never know the answer to that question. The good thing is that my Neti Pot is whole again. Restored to its old glory it will last me through a few more colds.  Eventually I will switch over to a ceramic one when my plastic one needs replacing.

Have you ever used a Neti Pot?

  1. Hi Stephanie:

I have one exactly like the blue one. I got it only a few weeks ago. I thought it would help as my sinuses are almost always stuffy. Anyway I used it about three times and then started to feel as thought my ear was clogged. I went to the doctor and sure enough I had a bad ear infection. I asked the doctor if he thought that the infection could have been caused by the Neti pot and he said that it could have been. I ended up having to take an antibiotic for 10 days .I was so dissapppointed. Now I am aftaid to use it again.

    • Hi Susan,

I’m sorry to hear you had an ear infection. Ouch! I try to only use my neti pot when I have a really bad sinus cold. If I ever get an ear infection shortly after using it then I’ll have to think twice about using it in the future. Thanks for your info 🙂

  2. Neti is a yoga practice. There is a specified drying procedure to avoid infection. I´m sending a link to a pdf about it. I´m only starting, but have read and heard nothing but good things about it until now. http://www.rainbowbody.net/Purity/NetiHandbook.pdf
