Today I picked up some plastic-free toilet paper from a janitorial supply store. The Scott brand toilet paper “exceeds EPA standards with a minimum 75% post consumer fiber and contains a minimum 90% to 100% recycled fiber“. It is two ply 500 sheets per roll and very soft. The price was very good too. 40 rolls for $32. Not bad for eco-friendly tp. I would rather it be un-bleached but beggars can’t be choosers. We will recycle the paper wrappings and cardboard box.
I will not lie. My husband is less than thrilled that I bought toilet paper at a janitorial supply store. He is worried.
I hope to win him over.
One roll at a time.
On another note, I have a cold. I am hoping that Cold FX, Fisherman’s Friends, hankies, warm tea, local honey and Buckley’s will make it go away fast enough for my possible day off by myself. I might even gurgle with salt and pull out my Neti-Pot in the morning. So off to bed in a few minutes to help the healing along.
Any home recipes to cure a summertime cold?

p.s. I found some zero-waste honey plus so many other great treats. I’ll write a post about it soon!
You do not need to be consuming so much to have a long and healthy life – Royal Society report “People and the Planet” (April 2012)

Hope you feel better soon. My grandfather taught me this and it works for me. Drink cups of hot water (or tea) with lemon and honey. The lemon adds vitamin C and soothes sore throat, the honey, well I think you know the benefits of honey as antibiotic
Posted by livingsimplyfree | June 29, 2012, 7:06 amYea! We buy Scott too. But to be zero waste, we have to buy the seperate rolls rather than the bulk, which is much more expensive. Maybe I could find a janitorial shop…
My hubby doesn’t like the rough paper either, but he’s given in.
I hope you feel better soon. Rest and plenty of fluids. That’s all the home recipes I have for that one! Get better soon!
